泡沫玻璃是以玻璃粉为基料，加入外加剂通过遂道窑高温焙烧而成。是高级保温隔热材料。具有容重轻、导热系数小、不透湿、吸水率小、不燃烧、不霉变、机械强度高加工方便、能耐化学腐蚀（氢氟酸除外）、本身无毒、性能稳定、既是保冷材料又是保温材料，能适应深冷到较高温度范围等特点。同时它的重要价值不仅在于长年使用不会变质，而且本身又起到防火、防震作用。在低温深冷、地下工程、易燃易爆、潮湿以及化学侵蚀苛刻环境下使用时，不但安全可靠，而且经久耐用，被誉为“不需更换的永久性隔热材料”。所以被广泛应用于石油、化工、地下工程、造船、国防军工的隔热保冷工程。

入=入。+0.00011(t-24)W/m·k式中入。为24℃时的导热系数，入为t温度下的导热系数。t为泡沫玻璃所处的平均温度。
